Goddesses of Zamasha

Chapter 1

The Books of the Goddesses

The land of Zamasha is surrounded by the waters of the world, ruled by the shapeless Supreme Beings. A great forest spreads across Zamasha filled with meadows, towns, and a desert that rests just south of the giant forest.  Streams and rivers run through the land giving enough water to the many creatures and plants that inhabit it.  The air smells so sweet you can almost taste it.  When you are there, it feels like a lovely dream, and everything has so much energy that even old creatures at their dying moment seem to frolic like children.

The people of Zamasha always sing tales about the great Goddesses that once ruled the land.  Some people believe in the Goddesses, while others think the stories are only children’s fairy tales.  The only ones who would know the truth about the myths would be the Goddesses themselves.

In one of the tales, it is said that each Goddess wrote how she became a Goddess of Zamasha in a book.  The story continues to say where these books may be found:

The Goddess of Energy sent hers to where creatures frolic and play.

The Goddess of The Arts sent hers to be painted in the sky.

The Goddess of Wind’s story can be found in the wind that blows through Zamasha.

The Goddess of Wisdom imbedded hers in the minds of all the creatures.

The Goddess of Water hid hers under The Nymph Waterfall.

The Goddess of Nature left hers with the Weeping Willow.

The Goddess of Fire gave hers to the Red Dragon to hide amongst his treasures.

The Goddess of Hate and War left hers with her warriors in the Temple of War.

The Goddess of Love and Peace’s story can be found in the heart of every living creature.

I wanted to know the true history of Zamasha and prove to everyone that the tales were real.  I spent many hours in the city library of my hometown, Shoren.  I researched the Goddesses’ books, but I could find nothing more than the tale. I was determined to know the truth about the Goddesses, and I, Faith, set out to find those books.
